POS conquest
I was pondering the idea of making the POS's invadeable by force. You could choose to arm your POS with turrets that would fire on anyone not on your invite list. But, the turrets would be temporarily destroyable. If all turrets are destroyed, the POS is open for invasion docking. If an enemy docks, they might be able to take a portion of whatever is in your storage, or tamper with equipment and disable on of your addon pods.

I could see this REALLY pissing off some PoS (peice of you know what, I hate POS and don't want to see them return) owners.
If this was something they added, I know what I would be doing all the time, attacking and disabling the stupid POS that litter the space lanes. Actually I kind of like the idea....assuming ND does indeed put these stupid things back in the game |

I don't like the POS in Jumpgate either. But keep in mind we may not see them in Jumpgate Evolution for some time without farm cash.

I'd rather see independent stations that could be taken over, rather than personal property that could be damaged/taken away. Remember some of the fights over LL, EE, etc? I'd also like to see a lot more of them (i.e. one every couple of sectors, no more than two empty sectors between sectors with stations).

Those were terrible. How the heck hard was it to line up in a refuel depot thingie when you were out of gas? I'm hope for squad based stations with minimum membership requirements to be considered as a squad (not that it will matter much with multiple characters per account). A lot harsher placement options too (no closer than 50k from the space lanes?), but not invadeable...though I do really like the idea of destroyable turrets giving a squad fighting on their home turf a home-court advantage.

Why not invadeable? If someone takes the time to destroy your station defenses, they should get something out of it. That of coarse assumes that the stations will have a defense system this time around.
As far is that is concerned, do ya'll think turrents only, or perhaps use some of the new fangled AI, and have it launch some defense ships? Of coarse these ships will cost the PoS owner moneyz... |
