POS idea list
- Get rid of taxxing on POS, taxxing is pol related
- Allow pricing for incoming (paying deliveries) and outgoing items - Access Denied for TRIC accounts (I said it before even if dailatron is ranting now) - Make them bigger - Allow "dismantling" with owner refunded less recycling costs at 5-10% (place all inventory and modules at faction core) - Long term TRIC accounts (6 months), automatically dismantled. - Provide "Faction POS" - Remove RRR modules, maybe introduce them later - Ammo guns originated from Faction station, they are thus "loaded" - Ship automatically RRRed upon death and returning to POS (homed) |

As far as I remember POS tax is a bug brought in by the non producing station patch hence the no tax on commods.
Dont like the RRR removal, from a non PvP perspective its really useful for fluxers. RRR on death should be a given since its a new ship for gods sake. Dont agree with the dismantling refund either Im afraid and thats coming from someone who dismantled 5 in 3 days (one was a stupid mistake tho lol). |

I think that POS in their current form are silly. It shouldn't be that every pilot who wants one can have a station, it should be something that a squad has to donate resources to creating as a secondary base somewhere. If it was much more expensive and time consuming to create a POS then we'd see a lot less clutter in space.

I agree with Seph. I believe that the way EVE handles POS's is very good - it causes many to moan since the price for one is quite exorbitant, but that's how it should be. If they were that cheap, then TRI would build 'em all over the place.

Personally, I wouldn't mind no POSes too much, if there was an NPC station alternative to some POS functionality. In particular, something that's actually usable for storage (not the level+5 BS of Jumpgate Classic) and the ability to store equipped ships for switching out to engage in other roles, like with the current hangar module.
Barring that, some effort (if not the current upkeep fee that's disabled due to bugginess) to maintain the station wouldn't be a terrible thing, IMO. I don't, however, think they should be made ridiculously expensive if they remain in Jumpgate Evolution, to the point where only a major squad can afford it. Yes, it is a MMOG, but my admittedly libertarian-leaning mind is somewhat less than inclined towards forcing interaction in that manner, to put it mildly. |

Make them only available to be built in faction station sectors or unreg. A factionalist squad cant control their borders when every opposition pilot just docks and hides every sector. Trust me, I know first hand.
They should be expensive, where only a decent sized guild can maintain one. They should be destroyable, but very hard. Current form of POS is IMO one of the things that helped kill Jumpgate in EP2. You want more space as a lone wolf pilot, buy locker space at a factional station. Make PoS mean something for people that work together. People need to hang out more in the fac stations anyway. It promotes community. I know, I know, Im sure there will be people who disagree... |

Limit the number of POS to one per squad. And it should only be allowed to build a POS if a squad has more than 5 members...

Me too.. individual POS were a great idea. A very cool concept.
But it didn't work out. It fractured the community, dried up the economy, and didn't even suck out all the money that it was supposed to. But I do like the idea of a 'locker' or hangers at faction stations for every pilot. Call that the middle ground. Perhaps there should be some sort of squad level bank, then, from which money for the POS is paid? |

I would like to see any POS or 'outpost' type docking stations to be squadron owned and only 1 per squadron. This should cut down on all the trash in space. Just think if Jumpgate had 5000 player peak during the US Timezone? We would have stations everywhere completely destroying the immersion(sp?) of the game.

I think POS should not be in Jumpgate Evolution at least as they currently exist
. Perhaps not even as a squad created Privately Owned Station. I do like the idea of buy/rent faction station storage (and definitely multiple ship hanger space!), or even warehouse space on foreign (non-hostile) stations. Perhaps as temporary base camps (mentioned several other places by various people including myself), that would exist for a set period and then disappear. Independent NPC stations would be acceptable, with or without storage for rent/purchase. Sort of like Lothar's Landing, Evenings End or Klatches Hold, but without any hint of unreg. Then these NPC stations could be set to exclude folks with pirate tags, or Mil Tags or bounties or whatever based in current game RP. They should not exclude based on faction though if they are going to be independent stations rather than faction based. If they had buy/rent-able storage, it would serve the same purpose as a squad POS, with a squad tag required to access. You could buy/sell to/from the Station as well. For that matter, why could there not be public hangers, like currently exist at private airports (attached to the main station or at a separate NPC independent station). Like my post elsewhere, a separate station for Military Operations where civilians could only deliver supplies or equipment, but not purchase any, would be one option. Or perhaps those NPC's stations could be corporate owned? If we have banking in the game (who knows if we will or not), then the idea of owning shares in the corporation would be possible. Or even starting a Publicly Owned Corporation for people who just want to do that kind of RP as opposed to anything we are currently doing. I see endless possibilities here for all kinds of things. I'm just not smart enough to figure out how it will actually go or even how it should go. |
