Re: Remove The Registry Tag System
Did any of you guys listen to the 2 hour interview? There were a couple questions where ND indicated what they plan for PvE/PvP. The basic concepts:
Players who don't ever want to engage in PvP will be protected. There will be places in the game where no one is protected. There will be incentives to go to the places of no protection. Sort of makes this whole thread moot |

Re: Remove The Registry Tag System
Lets face it we need some sort of "tag" just so we can assume some sort of consensual PvP. Hell even with the tag you can still get called lamer and/or have them splash with the good bye line of "leave me alone. Im only doing <some sort of> missions you lamer".
If anyone wants nothing to do with a tag system, stay in unreg. Or is this not about PvP but civ ripping ?. |

Re: Remove The Registry Tag System
I read the whole thread again just to see if it was about the tag system or just about civ ripping. Ill let you guess the outcome. Anyway I found this again and forgot to reply last time.
Sadly the damage was done long before that rule came into effect and the "damage" was the reason it was brought in in the first place. |

Re: Remove The Registry Tag System
Ok... my take on the bounties is that they should be based on the deeds (or the pr the deeds grant you) not how snazzy of a ship you fly.

Re: Remove The Registry Tag System
It is sad that this thread is no longer anything to do with the removal of the registry system. I honestly would like to try the game without.
IMO, removal of the tag system would create a more RP rich game, with more dependence on player interaction. Sorting out intersquad relations and escorts and sorting out who was doing what in a fleet/convoy was lots of fun. I did have to do this even when there was the tag system in place. But I was still mostly safe when I went HG-tagged for a month (Liet didn't even rip me when I was mining in a tow). You can't rely on tags or escorts or a bounty system to keep you safe. There is a level of risk that you take by launching. I still think that we'd be better off with a PvE server (with a civ-chip, you could still chose to PvP) and with a PvP server (with no civ tag). I'm glad that dailatron and lordo and WB still would rather SOME level of danger than a Civ-chip. I just don't understand what that level is. |

If you dont like the bounty get a LF and work the PR off. Its pretty simple really. Only civrip in unreg and there is no bounty. |
