Bigger ships with smaller radars doesn't seem to make logical sense to me. The only reason to have a low-range on a radar is because of limited space in the ship to put a bigger and better radar. I personally wouldn't mind if all ships had the same radar range...say 50k.

I'd rather see small radar uniformly, with a boost if your faction has tuned the beacon (or something like that). So maybe a 15K radar that can be "boosted" to 15k either by a tuned beac or some kind of new strategic support ship (think AWACS).
