Yeah it was a disaster in beta. But the old timers don't seem to have a voice, prior experience means nothing to the NEW community. So let's make all the same mistakes again.

I remember collisions in beta, and they did suck.

I don't recall how I voted on this topic, but I don't think I'd want collisions. The problem I would see would stem from the abuse of the system. Since you can just get another ship and head out and do it again, suicide pilots would run rampant.

I would assume that any game with trial accounts will have people creating new accounts just to grief people with suicide attacks. It would create more work for the GM's to weed them out.

As mentioned elsewhere, they'd also have to rework jumpgates...perhaps into more of a system like "back to the future" where you travel a certain speed into them, and come out at the same speed on the other side, thus reducing the number of collisions. The current petal setup wouldn't work if they had collisions, as pointed out in the Hyperial example.

Hey it worked in real life, flight combat tactic's with axis included ramming their aircraft into allied aircraft then bailing out. Besides if memory serves me correct I couldn't hit the other pilots much with the guns I had, so using my ship maybe I would have a better chance to score a hit and maybe even a kill , I say yes to ship collisions.

I thought of voting on this but im not sure how exactly you would implement collisions as we already have collisions to a degree......on that note i think it might be better said that collisions where not turned off but modified.

With collisions "on" hitting another ship would be just like hiting a roid or a bit of space debris.
