ships and weapons for Jumpgate Evolution

Intensity, Phoenix, Typhoon, Nova, thorn , Vantage. Names we all know and are familiar with. Will such things be replaced in Jumpgate Evolution with all new ships and weapons or will there be some familiarity/continuity between versions.

Well, from the contest that JSR is running, we know the newbie Sol ship is going to get a new name, at least. It seems to me that it would be a little odd for only one ship to be given a new name, especially seeing as that one ship suggests the others will be given a completely new look.

Injustice

While the concept of being synonymous with everyone's favorite size 2 laser is appealing

, I've since carried this name to every MMO I've played, so it's not exclusive to why I picked it originally. If Jumpgate Evolution is to be set in a future time frame from Jumpgate Classic, then using what amounts to centuries old equipment would be silly, unless you figure TRI (if it still exists) is going through a retro phase
