In Space Logistical Ship(s)

As far as the original topic goes, I wouldn't mind seeing a mini reload station that could be purchased for one time deployment when a long battle is planned. This mini station would need to be supported with a supply line and it's capacity for fuel and ammo should be limited to ensure the supply line needs to be maintained. This would give civilian factionalists that wish to have some fun with risk involved something to do. The mini station would need to be destroyable of course and it would be wise to have a few and defend them.

At a certain time after the supply chain ends or even after a time limit in general they would deteriorate and vanish.

Well I really dont see it as a 'mini station'...and definately attackable with bombers. But its defensive armor or 'other' defenses must be high as it would generally be a sitting duck.

It was in the 2hour interview iirc. He didn't commit to never having them just that they would not be included at release.

This idea has real merit tho i think. Hope we see something like this or that something fullfills this purpose.

also, i would like to see something say if someone had a pos and wanted to move it. we could have a special tractor beam that is equipable to say the fr8r and would allow you to slowly move the pos in question.

Ok well I am not big into POS, in fact I dont see the reason we have them in the first place. But I didnt really want this to be a POS thread. Having an array of support ships would also give pilots different skillsets to train up on...not just 'pew pew'.

Also, when I say "Dock" I really mean "Hook Up". You would never leave space when getting fuel or ammo, just have to pilot to the hook up point, which could be tricky if the logistical ship is on the move (albiet slowly). Think carrier landings without getting out of your F-14.

I like that part... Could be interesting too because when you hook up you would no longer be a valid target as you would become part of the Logistics Ship profile.

Perhaps we could dock kinda like in Crimsom Skies, the zep is moving, so you have to align yourself and hook up, then after service complete, they release you.

No!

If you are in space you are a target. Last thing we need is another place for people to "run and hide" even if the hiding is done in plain site. Both the "carrier" and the "refuelee" need to be vulnerable.

As far as i can tell this would be a 1 pilot at a time thing, so staying there would piss off your comrades. Anyway, if the thing kicks you back out once your refuelled then its not a "run and hide" thing so much.
