Oh, and to the people saying that gear shouldn't always be readily available and PvPers should have to haul to get gear to their POS, etc. that's rather hypocritical considering a lot of haulers/miners believe they should be immune to PvPers and not have to ever participate in PvP.

I'm not saying that PvPers shouldn't have to haul or mine occasionally, hell I do it when I have to and don't mind doing it either. But at the same time miners and haulers should not be immune to PvP.

Lets face it.. until pvp/pierats stop whining about not having all the equipment they want, they sure as hell aint gonna accept watching somebody take off with equipment from their silly station.

Re: Station Stripping

To me the easiest way to handle station stripping that effects PvP is to go to the seperate military station concept I've expanded on elsewhere. No civ can buy there; only take stocking missions TO the military station. Home faction MT only can buy there.

No pirates or hostiles can dock there. If necessary have the NPC producer/haulers take equipment to the Mil-Stat so the equipment is always there. While it would be possible for a MT traitor (like an Oct member of a Quant PvP squad) to still remove equipment, the overall effect would be negligible. Hauled or spawned, the equipment would always be available so the fighting wouldn't be interupted by vanished stocks of anything.

Re: Station Stripping

i think u are on the right track bill but instead of a seperate station iit should be something like this......
1. at faction stations equipment could fill a market where only mt can buy.

2. this market could be filled and then production would start to fill the civ market.
this idea might need some more tweaking because if i go to outpost to make 500 explosives and X amount goes to the oct mt market im going to have to be willing to lose those tier 1 comods to the mt market. unless im given some time to pick it up like we do now....as in pick it up before the next cycle or it gets used. this keeps majority of people still docking at faction stations.

Re: Station Stripping

I still dont know why you all have a problem with stripping stations, if the economy was more stable it wouldnt be a issue.

Stations should be an open market, if its available it can and should be able to be bought. Any decent halfway organised squads are POS based, to complain about stations being stripped or not stocked is childish.

Ive an idea about having a factional POS in station sectors where you can only buy one or two of the same item that way the real noobs will have somewhere to get equipment and at the same time make active squads work for their stuff.

If I want 50 Dreams and there is only 45 I should be able to take them and let the econ players fill the stations again.

And if a known terrorist walks into Home Depot and buys all the fertilizer in the store they should just let him and not notify the police, right?

I am currently operating under the assumption that POS will either be removed or totally reworked. I don't have any proof of this, but considering how out of control they got, I'd like to build the game to work from scratch, not a work around for crappy ideas and bugs.

Re: Station Stripping

ermmm! As long as there will be a economy in the game there will be shortages. We cant have one without the other. All your efforts and suggestions to deal with strippers and shortages are nonsens. Even removing Pos wont work, because any "decent halfway organised squad" will get equipment tows and stock them with gear from stations.

Once there will be no shortages anymore, there wont be any reason to log in for traders and miners. Less people logging in will result in boring fights and so on....

The idea of stocked "public" stations will all gear everywhere it is needed, the demonization of hoarding and strippers is the worst thing that happend after the merge in 2005. And its still going on...
