How do you get better stuff from controlling a certain resource? You just don't have outright access to it, but you can fight for it. It doesn't give anyone some massive advantage.
Ah well, I assumed the usual crowd would disagree because you want to pansify what is otherwise a good game. |

I don't think it will work then. We already have enough problems keeping new PvPers from getting discouraged and quitting after they lose 10 fights in a row. This would just make it worse for them.

All that means is they control the production on a few other tier 2 commods which means they could, in effect limit the equipment available to certain people. But if ND balances the game properly then that equipment wont be 100% necessarily like say Guzzlers or Sport+ are for the Tensy in Jumpgate Classic. It doesn't give some godly advantage to one side, they will have to defend it as well. It wont just be something they have indefinately. If you don't give meaning to PvP then the PvPers will get bored and leave. Giving meaning also means that the PvPers should be rewarded with more than just a +1 kill stat for doing well and they can fight each other over resources which means the carebears get left alone more frequently. |
