it will be cool to have a pic of the pilot that i have targeted. pop up on the screen next to MIT tag.

People could upload their own pic like they were sitting in the captains chair inside their ship.

It would be nice, but these would need to be aproved before use by ND. Another thing I remember people asking about that is related to pictures and related to your ship... is a squad logo. I remember seing in many combat planes the Samurai logo on the rear of a F14 (I dont remember what movie or news thing), but again, with ND aproval.. all squads could have their own small squad logo somewhere in the wings.

If anyone here has played counterstike they know that the "sprays" can get pretty damn bad....

So unless there is a "report" feature so that staff can double check someone, then this is a definite no.

Also, they would loose any chance of a decent game rating because of the unknown online content.

I think of this more the kind what Freespace and Unreal Tournament did, everytime a bot or somebody types something or orders something, their pic gets shown in an instant on the upper left corner with the message/order.

But there are also other unknowns about the 'new chat system' if any. If we expect to have 300-1000 pilots online, if they start talking on F5 it will be a crazy show of pictures, which would force these pics to be client side so those with slower connections can download them and incurr in less traffic and as such less lag.

Also, it would be nice if this could be turned off by the user.

Maybe you should think before you jump off the deep end and tell people to shut up. I was pointing out my question was off topic, and maybe it needed its own thread, not that your reply off topic, hence why I only quoted ( and asked a question about ) the section about communications and not the entire post.

But Scorch has answered my question so this thread can continue on with the discussion about player pictures in game.
