War Diary, Logbooks, and other webside tools
I just had a few ideas for squad pages. Each squad would have a separate page displaying a list of peace-war bars for all other squads in the game (like factional conflict peace-war bars we have now).
Another addition would be a war diary, which could time line the skirmishes that occur throughout the war (where the skirmish took place, who was involved from each squad, and possible stragglers that join the fray, what ship they flew in the skirmish, who the overall victor of the skirmish is, and a way to close the time line with an overall victor). This might also have to be tweaked to allow multi-squad alliances to be shown as one war. This idea is great for keeping a history for squads, and would give us something to remember the war by, instead of just a medal and be a great visual aid to show greenhorns. |

Nice idea. But couple problems. Sounds like alot to keep track as time goes by. What about number of squads? Even now with low population, we have lots of squads.
We need some mechanism to limit number of squads. I guess you can do it by the number of member to start a squad or period of activity (a fee maybe). |

Re: War Diary, Logbooks, and other webside tools
I liked the way OAS handled it. If you were an acknowledged ally, our squad page showed it. If we were at hostilities with your squad or at war, our squad pages showed that too, as well as our R.O.E. It was pretty simple and clear cut. It was clear cut what a member of the squad was allowed to do and said so. Violations were handled in-squad. Repeat violaters were asked to leave or kicked out. We had a good rep.
Not on the squad page, but on the web site were after-action logs. They are all lost now TTBOMK, but we listed all kind of things. Some of them were open to public view; some were not. |
