I use to do that all the time before I lived near the base. You could park on the sholder of the road dead center of the runway. It was way cool....one time a C5 was doing touch and goes and totaly missed the center of the runway ( I was parked of center that day) put the throttle to max and when he passed my truck it shook the fuck out it. Was scary and cool at the same time

No base around here, the KC-135 does touch and goes about once a week or more at our regular airport. Kinda odd. They must get bored of just floating up high all day. The final leg of the landing pattern is about a mile south of my house, so I can see when they are coming in and drive to the airport to watch.
