    There are some first ideas and todo's that I have in mind.

    The following list is far from complete but maybe give a rough impression.

    Short term (soon (tm))
    (Technical proof of concept)

    • Fixing some known issues in the network code and the client
    • Improve netcode interpolation for high ping players
    • Implementing rudimentary production chains
    • Improve shader code (multiple lights with deferred shading and norm/spec/glow/env-reflection)
    • Improve keymap and action controls configuration
      • mouse buttons and stick button can be assigned
      • custom changes are stored
      • stick axis assignment in config dialog
      • Default profile for saitek, microsoft needs test
      • axis assignment for mouse(reverse) necessary?
    • Model for the gates
    • Procedural asteroid creation
    • Procedural skybox system spacescape
    • State server for pilot persistence
    • Start a persistence galaxy with some stable sectors
    • Game content for 3 factions(station, starter vessel and starter equipment)
      • Find names for faction/vessels/sectors
      • Skybox for each faction
    • Sound support
      • Background music (music playback, sliced music for endless sound)
      • Item sound for guns/engines/ui
    • Incorporate credits, exp, licence points, reward system, ...
    • Incorporate ingame commands like /typo /bug /hint /idea, ...
    • Improve UI
    • Mining and Trading capabilities
    • Client driven netcode for AI and missile spam
    • Improve radar for better selection of friend and foe
    • Game server manager
    • AI server for (aliens, consortia ...
    • Emma

    • Stabilize and cleaning up client and server code
      • stress tests
    • Alpha release (launching server permanently and allow for rough playable state)

    Mid term (somewhere between alpha and beta)

    His "to do" list is about as long as mine is in regards to cleaning my house. lol

    Improved the assignment of custom controls via the configuration dialogue.

    Keys, Mouse Buttons and Stick Axes/Buttons can now be assigned and will be automatically stored.

    So the X52 should work now .. or can be configured via dialogue at least.

    Now we have basic music and sound support that only need some fine tuning.

    I also added the fantastic space scape toolbox directly into the game so the sky boxes are now generated procedural on the fly.

    Stick support should also be better now.

    So what's new? Any more work on this? It's kind of gotten quiet on this topic.

    process is going on .. the data persistence is nearly finished, we work an a mac port, and the team is probably grown by a new artist who want to provide new ship designs, we are looking forward to it ...

    You see, most stuff in background without something new to show. If some tasks are in showcase state .. for sure I will leave a note here :D

    we are still alive :) .. however, a little bit busy with real world jobs .. but I think and hope that we can spend some more time in the game "soon" (tm)
